• RADIO ISSUES: Up next the board addressed a situation in which Ed experienced a radio issue at an event earlier this season. It was stated that the event staff switched out radios, which were then operated by Jim Kramer and continued the event with no further difficulties. It was briefly discussed that the MTRA should consider developing a protocol to follow for future situations. Nigel expanded on the differences between the digital systems used in Europe against the analog system historically used in the states. It was stressed that as promoters and teams involved with the MTRA, our members should always have their radio systems fully charged and ready to call into action as backup to the primary radio systems during any and all performances.

The subject of creating a new logo has been a topic of discussion among the MTRA membership in recent months. There are several options that have been offered by MTRA sponsor, Vinyl Images of Fenton, Missouri and by Truck Toyz Performance of McAllen, Texas. However, not enough options can be just as confusing as too many options. So during the most recent MTRA conference call, it was determined to have the field narrowed down to 4 potential new contenders to go up against the existing MTRA logo in a general election so to be held. Therefore a total of 5 logos will be on the ballot to become or remain the MTRA logo going forward.
To be clear, this is an election to change the appearance of the logo, not the name of the organization. All of these fantastic designs are “interchangeable” as we still continue the discussion of altering the name of the Monster Truck Racing Association. You are voting for the art design you feel best fits the image of our organization in its current form, the Monster Truck Racing Association.
The official voting procedure will be determined shortly, and will likely be through an email from you, the members, to one official MTRA email address. Comments posted on this board will not count as an official vote. This forum is for discussion and communication only. During the next conference call we will determine the final voting period.
Thank-you to everyone that has participated in these discussions so far, and to Vinyl Images and Truck Toyz Performance for their contributions of creative design.

After careful consideration among the MTRA board of directors and side committees, a decision has been made on how to move forward with the management council. Discussions started in the January conference call among MTRA directors and have continued for several weeks. The proper course of action has been determined. In honor of friend, George Eisenhart who was currently serving as a director and President of the MTRA, the remaining board has elected to leave his director seat open for a minimum period of 3 months. Should circumstances dictate a need to change that direction, the board will revisit it as needed. We will continue to move forward and work in the same positive manner that George displayed to us all.
In addition to that, Marty Garza has accepted our unanimous request to take an expanded role in the MTRA as a consultant to the board. Marty will take part in the monthly conference calls and/or meetings held be the MTRA board of directors, technical advisors, and promoter advisors. “We all believe that Marty was an instrumental part in George’s efforts to create a refreshed MTRA system that better serves the industry. It is fitting that as we honor George’s memory we also bring in a person that worked closely with him over the last year in that capacity,” said Vice President, Tim Hall.
While no one will officially take the title of “President” at this point, the board has made a clear commitment to work together as one cohesive unit and embrace fresh ideas. Duties previously held by the President will be distributed among standing board members. Doug Noelke stated, “We will operate as a united team sharing a common goal, the same way George managed his staff at his events.” The MTRA board of directors hopes you will join us in honoring the memory of George Eisenhart, as well as welcoming Marty Garza as the official consultant to the board.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
