The 2009 Monster Nationals indoor season is in the books and MTRA Drivers Doug Noelke and Jocelyn Perrin have successfully defended their respective racing and freestyle titles. Each driver dominated in their respective category this year, with Doug driving the MTRA certified Tail Gator to the Racing Championship and Jocelyn driving the MTRA certified High Maintenance to the Freestyle Championship.
In a season overshadowed by the loss of Monster Nationals promoter and MTRA President George Eisenhart, the Monster Nationals family banded together and put together a first quarter full of great events he would have been proud of. A heartfelt congratulations to our friends Doug and Jocelyn from all of us with the MTRA on their great accomplishments this year.
The 2009 Checkered Flag Productions Monster Truck Winter Nationals season was filled with intense competition and highlighted by a hard fought battle for the championship. The season culminated with the Monster Truck Grand Nationals Championship event this past weekend in Pocatello, ID where MTRA drivers Larry Swim and Jon Zimmer entered the weekend 1-2 in points.
Each driver excelled all season long, and wouldn’t you know it, they ended up paired together in the first round of racing in a match-up that would have huge championship implications. Larry Swim charged into the corner with Bigfoot Bad Boy while Zimmer swung wide and that is the moment that would decide the race as Swim charged ahead to the victory putting Amsoil Shock Therapy out in the first round. Swim would go on to prevail in both the racing and freestyle competitions, easily defending his points lead and clinching the 2009 Monster Truck Winter Nationals championship!
A big congratulations to the whole Bigfoot 4×4 team from all of us with the MTRA on their big victory!
