CFP Announces BAD BOY BIGFOOT #3

January 6th, 2011

The BAD BOY BIGFOOT #3 is finished and it is the baddest one yet!

Brad Shaw designed the new scheme for the BAD BOY and it is incredible! Old school -Von Dutch-type flames and flat black paint make this year’s BAD BOY stand out even more than ever!

The BAD BOY truck is usually driven by Larry Swim. Larry began driving with BIGFOOT about 3 years ago with CFP and BIGFOOT. Larry was injured this summer at an outdoor event. Basically Larry’s back was broken and he jammed his spine down into the old style seat that was in the truck so hard that his spinal column was damaged – Thank God he was not paralyzed. Larry had just won his 2nd Winter Nationals Championship and his future was somewhat gloomy with a ride to the hospital and a doctor telling him he was lucky. Luck did not have anything to do with it – this guy is one tough hombre.

To give him time to heal BIGFOOT has hired one of the top names in Monster Trucks and that is former Bigfoot teammate Eric Tack. Eric has won many races and is a freestyle maniac, no tailgate is safe! We welcome Eric to the schedule even if it is on a limited basis; we know the BAD BOY will continue to be the truck to be reckoned with.

Larry will be back in the saddle (with a new style seat) by February and will have enough events to get plenty of points to run for the MONSTER TRUCK GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in Pocatello on Saturday April 16th.

But for now it’s:

Tack on the ATTACK!

Go BAD BOY!

GET WELL LARRY!

For immediate release:

Hall Bros. Racing recently made some changes to the staff to get ready for the 2011 season. Jeff Bauer, from Milwaukee, Wi has joined the team, along with Christian Norman, who comes to the snowy Midwest from Florida. Travis Howard has left the team to return to North Carolina.

Jeff is a long time fan of the sport. “We used to visit with him at the races all the time. He is a hard core Dodge guy, with some really cool classic Mopars in his collection. He is very good with the wrenches, and we are excited to have him on board” said team manager Tim Hall. Christian comes to the team having most recently served with Rich Blackburne’s Viper team. “He wants to learn more, and he has a tremendous work ethic. I think he can go really far in this sport” added Hall.

Travis Howard has left the team for personal reasons. “Travis told us he needed to get back to North Carolina to handle some things, and we respect that. He did a great job for us, and we wish him the best”, said Tim Hall.

The team will run a full schedule in 2011, including events on the Monster Jam series, the Monster Nationals series, and the 4 Wheel Jamboree series. In addition, Hall Bros. Racing will once again work with the Dodge Motorsports activation program, and fill out the schedule with appearances for the RAM truck brand and Hotsy pressure washers. “There are a lot of new things planned for 2011, and I am very excited. Watch for more announcements coming soon. It is going to be a great year! ” said Hall.

The following is a notice by Checkered Flag Productions to all monster truck teams scheduled to perform at their events in 2011:
____________________________________________________________

Monster Truck Drivers and Owners,

We at Checkered Flag hope the holidays are bringing joy and relaxation before we all begin our tour starting in January of 2011. We appreciate that you are a part of Checkered Flag Productions.

As many of you are aware we have increased safety standards here at Checkered Flag.. As a team Checkered Flag / truck owner/drivers have stepped up when we need you and follow the rules we implemented to keep not only the spectators safe but also the Drivers and Floor personnel.

Checkered Flag recognizes the need for a safety organization like the MTRA, and we feel the MTRA’s rule book and guidelines need to be followed by everyone.

We also know if every truck was an MTRA member it would be in the best interest of the entire industry including you, the truck owner/driver. Beginning right now we are stepping up and are mandating that all of the truck contractors we use in 2011 are Members or will join the MTRA. This letter is to Inform you that starting our first event (Salt Lake City, UT January 7/8 2011) every Trucks/Drivers will need to apply for and submit an Application and pay dues for that truck prior to payment of contract amount for that event. What does this mean for you the truck owner? Is that you are joining the only safety organization for Monster Trucks in the World. You will have a voice on how Monster Truck rules are made and implemented. You are stepping up to be part of a safety organization that each member is a voice for the good of your industry and for your protection in this lawsuit crazed world we live in.

Below is a Link to the MTRAs website application page. Whether you have one event contracted with Checkered Flag for 2011 or 15 events you are encourage to download, fill out and submit with $250 per truck membership fee an application and becoming a truck owner/driver member. If when the time comes of the event(s) you are contracted for and you have not submitted application with dues, you will be permitted to run the event and we will simply deduct the Application amount ($250) from the contracted amount for that event and will have you fill out an application and we will submit if for
you.

We hope you will be pro-active after you join, other truck owners are doing the same thing, and jointly we can do allot of good. Next, once the membership is submitted we will get a certified MTRA inspector to inspect your truck to see if it conforms to current rules. If it does you will be presented with a certification sticker in the mail for your truck as well as documentation for yourself stating it passed MTRA tech on such and such date for your records. We will work with each truck owner and allow time for trucks with minor infractions to be brought up to tech and have them re-inspected. Only having minor infractions found during tech inspection will NOT nullify our contractor agreement, however we would like to see these items corrected so we can certify your truck and get that paperwork to the MTRA.

Once the membership is submitted we will get a certified MTRA inspector to inspect your truck. Only having minor infractions caught during tech inspection will NOT nullify our contractor agreement, however we would like to see these items corrected and sustained so we can certify your truck and get that paperwork to the MTRA.

Also below as well as an online application is a link to the current rule book for you to download and go over your truck with prior to your tech inspection at the show the MTRA Tech is at to inspect your truck, in the hopes you pass on the first inspection if you are prepared.

Lastly thing to note is although the current rule book we are linking you to says so, it was just passed that ALL driver requirements (gloves, SFI 15 Suit, Grade of Helmet etc.) is not checked and needed FOR TRUCK CERTIFICATION. Now that does not mean that it’s not needed or suggested however this way if you do not have certain grades of these items as required by MTRA, the TRUCK itself can still be inspected and issued paperwork once it passes tech. These items are however required for you to obtain your MTRA driver’s license, which Checkered Flag is not requiring at this time. We feel the need to make this mandatory, that all of our owners/trucks are members and obtain certification of their trucks to keep this industry as a whole as safe as we can. We hope you all agree.

Any Questions on this matter, Please feel free to contact Checkered Flag Productions, Talent coordinator and MTRA Tech Inspector, Zane Rettew by email Zane@CheckeredFlagproductions.com or by phone at 717.923.0016 so he can address any items or questions you have as to how this letter will affect your team.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
